Our craft

Eleven days of work in a single jacket

Fleece is sorted and washed by hand, spun on a charkha, then knitted needle by needle in workshops around Kathmandu. Machine spinning cannot reproduce the uneven thickness of hand-spun yarn, which is why no two pieces we sell have quite the same texture.

How a piece is made

    Sorted and washed

    Raw fleece is graded by staple length, washed in cold water and dried in the sun.

  2. 02

    Spun by hand

    Most of our yarn is still spun on a charkha, which gives it its uneven, living thickness.

  3. 03

    Knitted and felted

    Each piece is worked on the needle, not the machine, over several days.

  4. 04

    Checked and tagged

    Every item is inspected, hand-tagged and packed in Kathmandu before it ships.
